The Malaysianist accepts advertising to run in its free weekly editions. The aim of these ads is to diversify revenue, which in turn, fuels growth. Our policies for accepting ads below. For queries, do reach out to me at [email protected].
Here are some guidelines:
- Editorial independence. Advertisers do not have editorial control over content in each newsletter. We do not tell them what we’re writing about nor do they review any of our work prior to publishing.
- Content standards. We seek ads that we believe might benefit our readers, and won’t mislead or harm them. The Malaysianist is generally fussy about ads and won’t run anything that doesn’t sit right with us.
- Format. Ads run after after the lede and are marked “sponsored” to separate them from editorial content. As this is a newsletter, ads typically be a single static image and limited to 150 words or less.
- Data privacy. We provide advertisers a high-level overview of The Malaysianist’s audience, such as newsletter open rates and click-through rates on ads. We do not share any individual reader data.
- Pricing. Rates are provided upon request. If you are keen on sponsoring a newsletter, email [email protected] with the subject line “sponsorship” or “advertising”.
- Approval process. Ads are subject to review and approval by Emmanuel and Xavier. We reserve the right to reject or remove any ad that fails to comply with our policies or that we deem inappropriate.
